I have written blogs on and off for the past few years. I find I lack a vision or theme for these endeavors, so they quickly fizzled out. My interests are so varied I’ve had a difficult time honing in on my voice. Over the past few months, however, I found a way to incorporate many of the facets of my personality into one cohesive blog!
I am a “Martha” in more ways than one. First off, I have the nickname “Martha Stewart” at work. I enjoy crafting of all sorts. I crochet, knit, sew, quilt, and the list goes on and on. I also love cooking, cleaning, decorating, and anything to do with homemaking. In this blog, you can expect recipes, craft projects, and decorating ides.
The second Martha within me is the one from the New Testament. I am such a doer and relate so well to the Martha of the New Testament. I continually busy myself with serving the Lord, find myself frustrated when others don’t pitch in and do what I think they should (ouch), and miss opportunities to simply sit at the feet of my Savior, just like Martha who went before me. I am learning day by day that my faith is not about what I do to prove I was worth saving, or how much I do for the Lord. It is about learning to sit at the feet of my Savior and marvel in the amazing, free, and undeserved love that has been given me in Jesus Christ. If you stick around, you’ll also find stories of the ups and downs in my walk with the Lord as I continue to pursue a heart like His.
